The Texture Series is Yamamoto Paper’s exploration of how wax coating can enhance the natural qualities of paper. Embossed patterns are formed using engraved press rolls, then combined with carefully colour-controlled raw materials. Once waxed, the tones gain depth, and subtle variations in transparency emerge depending on how much wax the paper absorbs. The result is a cover that feels tactile, layered, and quietly expressive.
Hanezu is a traditional Japanese colour associated with delicate reddish tones, often described as a soft, pink-tinged brown. Historically used in garments and dyes, it carries a gentle warmth that feels neither bold nor plain — a colour that reveals itself slowly.
